The sky goes from deep violet at the top through magenta and rose to a band of orange along the horizon, the full moon of the fifteenth of Tishrei rising over the cypress trees, and the sukkah already lit and glowing gold from the inside, its light spilling out across the stones. In gold letters above, בסכת תשבו שבעת ימים.

This is the dusk sibling of our Glowing Sukkah at night and its daytime companion: the same sukkah and the same family at a third hour, so the three hang as a set. It is the warmest piece in the collection, painted in thick palette-knife strokes so the sunset has real texture and the pinks stay rich rather than pastel.
