A sukkah decoration painted around the mitzvah itself. Across the top, the shivas haminim hang from cords the way fruit is hung in a sukkah: sheaves of wheat and barley, a cluster of grapes, a string of figs, a pomegranate, an olive branch, and amber dates, glowing in late-afternoon sun. Below, the arba minim lie ready for Yom Tov: an esrog nested in flax inside its silver box, two lulavim, and tied bundles of hadassim and aravos. Between them, in gold Hebrew letters, the pasuk: ושמחת בחגך והיית אך שמח. Rejoice in your festival, and you shall have nothing but joy. Painted in rich impasto brushwork, warm gold against deep cobalt blue, so it reads like an oil painting on your sukkah wall, not a poster.
